Chevrolet Aveo, 2009
The automatic-equipped 2009 Chevrolet Aveo has EPA rating of 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined. The interior of the Aveo5 was redesigned this year. The hatchback sports higher-quality materials, “woodgrain-appearance” or metallic trim, a driver armrest and additional storage. The hatchback and sedan have a 60/40-split-folding rear seat that creates extra space for cargo. I needed the extra space to fit my golf clubs, but had to take out the baby seat. My wife didn t like the car.
The back seat was cramped once the baby seat was attached leaving little room for my petite wife who likes to ride in the backseat with our nine-month old daughter. A subcompact is not supposed to have the luxury of a lot of room and the 2009 Aveo does not. Golf clubs or baby stroller? One must decide. The car works hard to get up to highway speed but once there cruises along nicely.
The Aveo is a great student car, ideal for commuting to campus, a part-time job and even a several-hundred mile trek to visit mom and dad.
