Chevrolet Silverado tops list of most stolen vehicles (1:37 p.m.) Sun-News report Article Launched: 10/09/2008 01:34:06 PM MDT EL PASO - The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick-up truck is the most popular vehicle among thieves and tops the list of the five most stolen vehicles, according to an El Paso Police Department news release.

So far this year, 127 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up trucks have been stolen, 126 Ford F150 pick-up trucks, 89 Ford F250 pick-up trucks, 65 Chevrolet Tahoes, and 64 GMC Sierra pick-up trucks, according to numbers from the El Paso County Auto Burglary & Theft Prevention Task Force. The task force urges motorists to prevent theft by locking their vehicles, taking the keys, using anti-theft devices, and placing valuables out of sight.
