A base 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 starts at $72,125, including shipping nearly $13,000 less than the 427 Limited Edition Z06. However, the 427 Limited Edition Z06 appears destined to be a true Corvette collectible and the price tag is not likely to deter aficionados. “It is aimed, as always with our special editions, at Corvette enthusiasts who like to have something different,” said Bob Tripolsky, Chevrolet spokesman.

SAN FRANCISCO Chevrolet has the product and brand positioning to remain the top-selling U.S. brand over No. 2 Toyota and No. 3 Ford, General Motors executives told dealers at the Chevrolet make meeting. But dealers were told they must defend the brand’s truck sales, continue to push car sales especially of the new Malibu sedan and market fuel economy. “It’s a tough business environment, but 2007 was better than it seemed,” said a Chevy dealer after the meeting.

The Aveo hatchback also bears Chevrolet’s new design language, as characterised by the large horizontally split radiator grille with a body-coloured crossbeam, and the brand logo sitting proudly in the middle. The dynamic details include large, curved clear-glass headlamps and fog lamps that project like spotlights from the lower part of the bumper. The engine hood follows the line of the radiator grille. The highlight of this year’s Chevrolet Europe presentation at the Geneva Motor Show is the new three-door Aveo, which will be shown to the public for the very first time. It underlines Chevrolet’s firm intention to quickly extend its successful compact class family, as the new five-door model is due to go on sale in March. The most significant features of both models are their striking exterior, high-quality interior and new, even more efficient gasoline engines.

The new Chevrolet Aveo with 5-doors hasn’t even gone on sale yet, sales start this March, and Chevy Europe is already extending its compact class range. The three-door variant will be following the five-door to dealerships by a few months, with sales expected to commence in June. The new Chevrolet Aveo has an all new exterior design, new interior and more efficient engines than its predecessor.

A highlight at the Chevrolet booth at next month’s Geneva motor show will be a reworked three-door Aveo small car. The three-door Aveo joins the five-door version that was announced at the Frankfurt motor show, to complete the freshened Aveo lineup. Changes include a new front end with large, horizontally split grille, front and rear light housings, front-fender vents and side turn indicators.
