Spy Photos Reveal 2009 Chevrolet Camaro s Interior
Spy photographers from Danmark have finally caught the first interior photos of the upcoming 2009 Chevrolet Camaro coupe . Two different Camaro test mules were caught on their way to cold-weather testing in the Arctic Circle. They were accompanied by several other prototypes built by Holden, GM’s Australian subsidiary. Holden is doing most of the engineering work on the 2009 Camaro. The spy photos reveal an interior that incorporates some elements of the concept while adding a few modern touches.
The instrument panel continues the twin binnacle design shown in the concept, and the center console also retains the ‘69 Camaro’s signature rectangular auxiliary gauges. A more modern center stack incorporates most of the radio and climate controls. The relatively small display screen seems to indicate that factory navigation won’t be an option. Exterior photos reveal a Camaro with 20-inch wheels, 245/45 Pirelli P Zero tires and visible B-pillars.
It’s also evident that the C-pillar of the production model will be smaller than the concept’s . Production of the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro is expected to start late this year, with deliveries starting in early 2009. What this means to you: If you were hoping the Camaro’s interior would be as striking as the exterior, it appears as though you might be disappointed with the final product.
